The Polycrisis is a term coined by the WEF in 2022. I have been calling this the Firestorm Event since 2020. But there are too many things happening right now for all of this to be a coincidence, for them to be these profits who predicted the demise of humanity due to climate change. The whole climate change agenda that is going on right now is not only a complete farce, but it is also a massive discredit to science. Man does contribute to climate change, but not enough to bring about our destruction, and it is nowhere near as significant as geoclimatic and solar influences. Here is an article that was written by the World Economic Forum on January 13, 2023.
We’re on the brink of a ‘polycrisis’ – how worried should we be?
The cascading and connected crises we find ourselves in at the beginning of 2023 demand a new descriptor to define the scale of the problems the world is facing.
The war in Ukraine sent energy and food prices soaring. The resulting inflationary pressures ignited a global cost-of-living crisis which has led to social unrest. On top of all that, carbon emissions continued to rise as economies reopened after the pandemic.
The collective vocabularies stored in the world’s great dictionaries didn’t appear to hold a single world to sum up all this strife. So here’s a new one: Polycrisis.
The World Economic Forum’s Global Risks Report 2023 uses the term, to explain how, “present and future risks can also interact with each other to form a ‘polycrisis’ – a cluster of related global risks with compounding effects, such that the overall impact exceeds the sum of each part”.
The report, produced in partnership with Marsh McLennan and Zurich Insurance Group, highlights multiple global risks and is a call to action to prepare the world for future shocks.
At the heart of the research is the annual Global Risks Perception Survey (GRPS), which brings together leading insights from over 1,200 experts across the Forum’s diverse network.
When asked to rank the most severe short- and long-term risks, respondents identified the cost-of-living crisis as the most severe immediate risk, but saw the failure to mitigate the climate crisis as the biggest risk 10 years from now. The full rankings are illustrated in the chart below.
Speaking at the launch of this year’s Global Risks Report, Saadia Zahidi, Managing Director at the World Economic Forum, said the risks we face will evolve slowly over the coming decade.
“Two years out, the experts are still expecting that the cost of living is going to be the number one risk on the global agenda. Ten years out, six of the top ten global risks are dominated by climate and the environmental risks associated with that, such as large-scale involuntary migration.”
Speaking alongside Zahidi, John Scott, Head of Sustainability Risk at Zurich Insurance Group, shared his concerns about the lack of political foresight on the climate crisis. “We're living in a world right now where what's scientifically necessary, and what is politically expedient don't match.”
Scott made a call for more public-private collaboration on mitigating climate impacts. “Solving climate change is the ultimate team sport. It isn't just coming from one sector. It has to be governments, it has to be business, it has to be the finance sector to work together to really address these complex and systemic issues.”
-Simon Torkington, World Economic Forum
Cost of living crisis:
The cost-of-living crisis is created by fiat currencies, central banks, and radicalized spending with no budgetary constraints. This is 100% man-made and 100% avoidable. This would be easy to take care of if the bureaucracy and the central banks were removed.
Natural disasters and extreme weather events:
Mostly, what they are considering natural disasters and extreme weather likely aren’t natural and are in fact being propagated. And the question you have to ask yourself here, because there is the chance that many of them are natural events, is could they be man-made? Could these events be brought about with satellite-based weapons or other types of acoustic electromagnetic technologies that would utilize the ionosphere, much like what Tesla was doing? And the answer is yes.
Geoeconomic confrontation:
This is completely man-made and is taking place between the BRICS nations and the western global alliance, and this is happening because of the rise of the western world order. But this could also be avoided.
Failure to mitigate climate change:
This is highly inaccurate in the sense of what they are saying here. This world has actually done a lot to move away from carbon based fossil fuels. But the problem is, the more you move away from these types of energy sources in order to try to mitigate climate change, the worse the crisis becomes. It produces droughts, famines, strains on the electric grid, and depletion of natural resources. This is absolute garbage.
Erosion of social cohesion and societal polarization:
This is being created completely by mainstream media, private organizations, philanthropies, nonprofits, and NGOs. They are creating these scenarios and these groups, radicalizing them, and infiltrating and indoctrinating our social, cultural, and academic institutions. This is man-made as well and could be easily stopped if we took all these people to jail for their crimes against humanity.
Large-scale environmental damage incidents:
These things can be remedied very easily.
Failure of climate change adaption:
This appears to be the exact same thing as failure to mitigate climate change. Basically, what they are saying is that people don’t want to change. But it’s not that people don’t want to change; it just isn’t feasible to do so in the current socioeconomic and geoeconomic situations that we have on this planet.
Widespread cyber-crime and cyber insecurity:
What they are soon going to find out is something that we have been talking about for a while now. That the 190 food processing, manufacturing, and distribution facilities were most likely cyber events that were targeting certain parameters within networked machines that typically run 24 hours a day, causing them to produce internal overloads and start fires. But it could take some time for them to figure this out. There is also a possibility that when they do find out it will become classified to where the public will never know the truth. Either way, we have seen a 3000% increase in the amount of critical infrastructure fires in the last year and a half.
Natural resource crisis:
Which route would be better to take, drilling for crude oil or mining for rare earth minerals, which takes up much more space, displaces large amounts of earth, and are typically slave labored?
Large-scale involuntary migration:
Involuntary? Tell me why the United Nations is at the Darien Gap in Panama, setting up shelters for refugees coming into Venezuela from Northern Africa and China. How are they getting there? These people who are living in extreme poverty are somehow getting on boats from Northern Africa and China and are making their way to Venezuela, migrating all the way up to the Darien Gap in Panama, then being put on busses and shipped to the United States of America. That is not involuntary. That is forced and funded migration.
So, everything that they have listed to occur within the first 2 years are not naturally occurring phenomena. Whether psychologically, socially, economically, or environmentally, it is all produced by man. If you go back to 2014 and read Klaus Schwab’s book, The Fourth Industrial Revolution, what you will find is that he talks about how the world is going to move into a new automated world. A world of a digital scape, where machine learning, automation, and AI will begin to take over and displace jobs. But that it is going to happen at a period of time where we are confronted with various environmental, ecological, economic, social, and cultural disasters.
Now let’s go over to a trilogy that was written by William Gibson called the Jackpot Series. The story was published in 2014, and Amazon decided to make a TV show based on these books called Peripheral. Here is the part of the show where they explain to Flynn, the main character, what happened to the world. In the clip she is wearing a set of VR goggles called peripherals, and this device connects her to 100 years in the future through quantum entanglement. Watch and tell me that this isn’t planned:
Do you think this is all just coincidence?
In the show, with the pandemic that was mentioned, they were saying that it was a blood disease, a filovirus. They talk about how it affected the liver, spleen, and intestines, causing the abdomen to blow up. On October 23, 2022, John Hopkins University, the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, and the WHO had another tabletop exercise called Catastrophic Contagion. It was an adenovirus that affected the stomach and the intestines of children and even infants still in the womb. And that the population decline by 7 billion people.
TABLETOP EXERCISE Catastrophic Contagion
The Johns Hopkins Center for Health Security, in partnership with WHO and the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, conducted Catastrophic Contagion, a pandemic tabletop exercise at the Grand Challenges Annual Meeting in Brussels, Belgium, on October 23, 2022.
The extraordinary group of participants consisted of 10 current and former Health Ministers and senior public health officials from Senegal, Rwanda, Nigeria, Angola, Liberia, Singapore, India, Germany, as well as Bill Gates, co-chair of the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation.
The exercise simulated a series of WHO emergency health advisory board meetings addressing a fictional pandemic set in the near future. Participants grappled with how to respond to an epidemic located in one part of the world that then spread rapidly, becoming a pandemic with a higher fatality rate than COVID-19 and disproportionately affecting children and young people.
Participants were challenged to make urgent policy decisions with limited information in the face of uncertainty. Each problem and choice had serious health, economic, and social ramifications.

We are being told exactly what is happening. These people are not hiding anything. Evil does not hide when it is winning, and they do believe that they are winning. How do we know this? Because they taunt us.

This is satellite imagery of the beginning of the fires in Quebec. On that map you can see the first indications of the fire around 9:40 am. An hour later you see another one about 10 miles away. And at around 12:40 it shows multiple fires miles apart. This is statistically improbable, and it appears to be arson. I think it is highly likely that there was a small Cessna flying around those areas and dropping some type of flammable substance into the forests.
CNN chief Chris Licht ends turbulent run at network
Chris Licht, the embattled head of CNN, has stepped down “effective immediately,” the network’s parent company Warner Brothers Discovery announced Wednesday, as the global news outlet struggles to reverse a ratings decline.
After joining CNN last year, Licht came under fire for editorial decisions including a recent town hall meeting with former president Donald Trump that was dominated by cheering from supporters and jeering at moderator Kaitlan Collins.
The shakeup, which comes as major news outlets pivot towards the 2024 US presidential election, highlights the challenges facing those organizations that are aiming to appeal to a broad audience in a deeply divided country in which misinformation is rampant.
During Licht’s tenure, CNN saw ratings diminish even as it tried to position itself in the middle between the hard-right Fox News and the progressive MSNBC.
In announcing the change, Warner Brothers Discovery chief David Zaslav said he has “great respect” for Licht, whom he described as passionate about journalism.
“The job of leading CNN was never going to be easy, especially at a time of huge disruption and transformation, and he has poured his heart and soul into it,” Zaslav said.
But following last week’s publication of a lengthy article in the Atlantic that chronicled numerous interviews with Licht, including in gym workout sessions, his delicate position appeared untenable.
Under the plan announced Wednesday, CNN will be led on an interim basis by executive vice presidents Amy Entelis, Virginia Moseley, and Eric Sherling, as well as Chief Operating Officer David Leavy.
Shares of Warner Brothers Discovery rose 3.5 percent in late-morning trading.
In the Atlantic article, Licht had sharply criticized CNN’s news coverage of Trump under former news chief Jeff Zucker, but the publication reported uncertainty among CNN journalists on Licht’s preferred approach.
The article also characterized Licht as aloof and distrusted among rank-and-file network journalists, who bemoaned his handling of other controversies, such as the firing of former CNN presenter Don Lemon over on-air remarks seen as sexist.
Licht had spoken frequently of his hopes to attract more Republican viewers to CNN after the network became seen as a leading Trump opponent.
Attracting more Republican viewers has also been a priority for Zaslav, who touted the network’s greater ability to attract the party’s lawmakers for on-air interviews.
“We need to show both sides of every issue,” Zaslav told a Wall Street conference last month.
But the problems with this approach became evident at the May 10 town hall with Trump at which the ex-president frequently spoke over Collins, promoted his false narrative that the 2020 election was stolen from him and said he would pardon many of those convicted over the violent January 6 siege of the US Capitol.
Critics likened the event to a campaign infomercial for Trump in which Collins’ efforts to fact-check Trump were drowned out.
But polling shows a large percentage of Republicans continue to believe Trump’s characterization that the 2020 election was compromised — despite the lack of proof.
Before CNN, Licht had worked as a showrunner for CBS’ “The Late Show with Stephen Colbert” and MSNBC’s “Morning Joe,” hosted by former Republican congressman Joe Scarborough.
Upon taking the helm at CNN, Licht spoke of the need to make CNN a “beacon” of trust for all viewers.
But there were also a number of high-profile departures, including of media reporter Brian Stelter and veteran political journalist John Harwood, who were two of the screen personalities most vocal in calling out Trump.
Washington Post columnist Perry Bacon said Licht’s approach to news was emblematic of “an anti-woke centrism” that adopts a skeptical approach to progressive causes frequently lampooned by the political right.

AI spy program launched to monitor global bank transactions for “money laundering,” but people know it’s just an EXCUSE to surveil their private accounts
A global cashless society is at the door as the world’s globalist bankers forge ahead with plans to centralize all of the world’s international and central banks under one single umbrella network.
To make this possible, the International Monetary Fund (IMF) is readying to introduce its new global central bank digital currency, or CBDC, which we are told will be called UMU or Unicoin. The Bank for International Settlements (BIS) is also doing its part with multiple projects aimed at synchronizing the world’s money systems into one single system.
One BIS project under development is Project Icebreaker, which aims to create a SWIFT-like bottleneck system that will allow global banks to regulate and eventually homogenize all currencies into a one-world exchange model. This would allow the globalists full power to cut off any nation or company that does not meet certain ideological and obedience standards.
Then there is Project Aurora, another BIS project that is perhaps worse than Project Icebreaker in that it utilizes “machine learning,” or artificial intelligence (AI), to monitor money flows all over the world in order to identify flagged patterns indicative of “money laundering.”
According to the BIS, the purpose of the AI-driven spying and surveillance system is to look for money laundering structures protected by “money mules.” In order for it to be able to monitor all global financial transactions in real time, though, corporate banks and governments will need to allow the system to invade people’s private bank accounts.
Right now, your banking transactions are your own business, other than a few corporate banks that have implemented their own private AI monitoring systems to detect unusual account activities.
With Project Aurora in place, the BIS and its partners would have instant access to anyone’s bank account anywhere in the world, allowing the globalists to target “offenders” with impunity once identified by the AI robots.
“Much like the drug war was used as a rationale in the U.S. and Europe to give governments unfettered access to citizen finances; a power which has since been abused in a number of ways (in some cases accounts can be seized on the mere suspicion of a crime, rather than conviction), Aurora relies on the bogeyman of money laundering to give governments and global banks vast surveillance powers,” warns Zero Hedge.
“The project’s focus on AI is presented as if this will protect individual privacy, but all AI programs serve their makers. Whoever controls the AI also controls who the AI targets.”
It is not some wild conspiracy theory to imagine a future – and a very near future – in which systems like this are fully implemented to the point that people’s personal bank accounts are regularly frozen for a variety of reasons ranging from financial to political. It could become a global social credit scoring nightmare of unbelievable proportions, and very quickly.
“It’s hilarious that the top financial criminals of the world monitor us like we’re the problem,” wrote one person in response to the news.
“We’re laundering their money! Or, er, living,” joked another.
“I just wonder what happens when five minutes after turning on that AI it says ‘Holy ***! Look at all the money Joe Biden is laundering from all these countries!'” responded someone else.

EXPOSED: Signed Letter by President Trump Reveals He Declassified Docs on Obama Regime Spying on Him the Day Before He Left Office – Explains Why They Raided Mar-a-Lago – CONFIRMS Our Previous Reporting
BREAKING UPDATE–
DC Draino on Wednesday morning tweeted out a signed letter by President Trump dated January 19, 2021. This was the day before President Trump left office. The presidential letter declassifies all of the Crossfire Hurricane documents that prove Barack Obama, James Comey, John Brennan, James Clapper, the FBI, CIA, State Department and Deep State spied on him and knew the Trump-Russia collusion hoax was a scam.
This is devastating news for the Biden regime. Don’t expect this to make any headlines in the fake news today!
Back in August 2022 when the Biden regime raided Mar-a-Lago The Gateway Pundit reported that the FBI “had a personal stake” in retrieving documents at Mar-a-Lago. They were after Spygate documents!
Here is what we reported at the time –
President Trump declassified a binder on January 19th, 2021 that contains hundreds of pages about the Crossfire Hurricane scandal. It contains damaging information about the corrupt actors involved with our government. Two different DOJ Attorney General’s have defied President Trump’s direct lawful order to publish the binder in the Federal Register. It’s been 19 months as the DOJ defies the order, and every FOIA request to make it public. Can we now raid the homes of acting AG Monty Wilkinson, and Merrick Garland?
The DOJ had already made redactions to protect sources & methods, and returned the binder back to the White House. But the corrupt FBI also wanted to hide names. So at the last minute, the DOJ demanded the binder comply with the 1974 Privacy Act. The Act requires any “agency” that releases records to also hide personal or identifiable name information. The DOJ knew this Act doesn’t apply to the White House, it was a stall tactic. The courts decided this 22 years ago that the Privacy Act was based around FOIA requests, and the White House is not an agency.
Hours before Trump left office on January 20th, Chief of Staff Mark Meadows gave the binder back to the DOJ, along with this memo. He asked the DOJ to make any Privacy Act redactions “out of an abundance of caution”. In the memo he asks they expeditiously release the binder when finished. Meadows foolishly expected this would take 3-4 days. It’s been 19 months and still not released. Just the News recently obtained the Meadows memo from the National Archives, who also denied having a copy of the declassified binder.
Meadows admits in interviews various agency’s often stalled or defied Trump’s orders. Meadows knew better than to rely on the DOJ to release this damaging binder after they left the White House. He should have released the binder to the public himself. But in doing so, there was a chance he would become a target of the DOJ and FBI. The memorandum below is what Mr. Meadows sent to the DOJ Attorney General on January 20th, 2021.

New details on Monday’s raid of Mar-a-Lago may offer an explanation on what the FBI was looking for and why the FBI has not released the Spygate documents as they were ordered to when President Trump left office.Investigative reporter Paul Sperry had his Twitter account taken down for the second time on Monday.
Sperry had his first Twitter account removed after he identified Eric Ciaramella as the leaker in the first Trump impeachment trial.
Sperry had his second account takedn down on Monday after he tweeted about the Mar-a-Lago raid and what the FBI was looking for.
According to Paul Sperry, the FBI agenst spent 9 hours looking for details President Trump took with him on the Crossfire Hurricane FBI spying scandal.
The FBI and DOJ cannot let the American public know the truth of the their criminal acts and attempted coup of President Trump. So they raided his home looking for the documents that may indict the organization.
Zero Hedge reported:
Twitter has suspended journalist Paul Sperry after he made several tweets about this week’s FBI raid on Trump’s Mar-a-Lago residence, where they spent up to 9 hours rifling through the former president’s private office, Melania Trump’s wardrobe, and eventually took 12 boxes of material…
Sperry: “DEVELOPING: Investigators reportedly met back in June w Trump & his lawyers in Mar-a-Lago storage rm to survey docs & things seemed copasetic but then FBI raids weeks later. Speculation on Hill FBI had PERSONAL stake & searching for classified docs related to its #Spygate scandal.”
Sperry also tweeted a list of “conflicted” DOJ officials who were “briefed on the Mar-a-Lago raid”, and noted that “CNN is admonishing reporters not to call the FBI raid of Trump’s home a “raid,” but instead to term it as a “judge-approved search.”
He also tweeted: “Funny, don’t remember the FBI raiding Chappaqua or Whitehaven to find the 33,000 potentially classified documents Hillary Clinton deleted,” adding “And she was just a former secretary of state, not a former president.”
It appears there is more to the Mar-a-Lago raid than they are disclosing.

Feds inform Trump he is target likely to be indicted as DOJ rebuffs prosecutorial misconduct claim
Federal prosecutors have notified Donald Trump that he is a criminal target and likely to be indicted imminently in a probe into alleged classified documents – even as the Justice Department declined to delay charges to give time to investigate allegations of witness tampering submitted by the former president’s legal team, according to multiple people on Wednesday familiar with the case.
The sources directly familiar with the case told Just the News that DOJ declined to delay the planned indictment of Trump to investigate allegations that a senior prosecutor working on the case tried to influence a key witness by discussing a federal judgeship with the witness’ lawyer.
That allegation is still pending in a secret case before Chief U.S. District Judge James E. Boasberg, the jurist who oversees the federal court in Washington, D.C., and the grand juries that convene in that courthouse, the sources said.
An historic federal indictment crafted by Special Counsel Jack Smith could be handed up by a federal grand jury against the 45th president as early as this week, the sources said.
Trump has already been indicted in a Manhattan court on charges he falsified business expenses to hide hush money payments to a porn star and has pleaded innocent.
Trump has portrayed both cases as part of a broader “witch hunt” and dual system of justice designed to derail his 2024 presidential candidacy.
This week, Trump argued Smith is a partisan and the federal case against him is being treated differently than one against President Joe Biden, who also was found with classified documents in his possession from his time as vice president.
“HOW CAN DOJ POSSIBLY CHARGE ME, WHO DID NOTHING WRONG, WHEN NO OTHER PRESIDENT’S WERE CHARGED, WHEN JOE BIDEN WON’T BE CHARGED FOR ANYTHING,” Trump wrote on his Truth Social platform in a post in which he also railed against the failure of DOJ to charge Hillary Clinton in 2016 over classified emails kept on her private email server.
“ONLY TRUMP - THE GREATEST WITCH HUNT OF ALL TIME!” he added.
Federal prosecutors deny politics have been involved in their pursuit of Trump.
Smith’s prosecutorial team informed Trump’s legal team in recent days that the charges against the former president could include a violation of 18 U.S. Code Chapter 37 Section 793 that outlaws the “gathering, transmitting or losing” of national defense information. Other charges being considered involve alleged false statements and obstruction of justice, all claims the president and his team have robustly contested in public and in private.
No prior or sitting American president has ever been indicted in federal court, and if the grand jury accepts the prosecutors’ case it will touch off an unprecedented legal battle certain to work its way to the Supreme Court while lingering over the 2024 election in which Trump handily leads the GOP field by as many as 50 points in some polls.
According to multiple sources familiar with the ongoing probe, all of whom talked to Just the News on condition of anonymity because they were not authorized to talk to the media:
Trump’s lawyers have prepared a robust defense based on months of legal research, anticipating Smith might pursue charges. Trump’s lawyers are prepared to argue that a president had broad powers under the Constitution to keep documents or declassify without any fanfare documents from his presidency and take them with him upon leaving office.
They will rely heavily on a U.S. District Court case in Washington more than a decade ago involving former President Bill Clinton that concluded a president had broad and mostly unchallengeable power to determine which documents from his presidency can be kept personally and that any documents moved to Trump’s homes in Mar-a-Lago, Fla., and Bedminster, N.J., fall under that category.
An American Bar Association report in 2022 seemed to agree with Trump’s assertion that “guidelines support his contention that presidents have broad authority to formally declassify most documents that are not statutorily protected, while they are in office.”
Prosecutors plan to counter that authority does not extend to documents containing National Defense Information whose retention or release could jeopardize national security.
They have purportedly introduced to grand jury witnesses a recording Trump’s office made in 2021 during an interview with former chief of staff Mark Meadows’ biographers in which the former president allegedly talked about a document he described as “confidential” and “secret” and in his possession allegedly written by former Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Mark Milley that outlined a war plan against Iran. “Confidential” and “secret” are terms that can be used to mark a classified document, or can just be colloquial terms suggesting a document with sensitive.
While prosecutors have not located an exact document matching Trump’s description, they found one with classified markings written by others laying out an Iranian battle plan that Trump returned to the National Archives more than a year ago.
Trump lawyers have developed evidence showing that information from that plan was leaked to a major magazine by a senior military officer and plan to use that as evidence that it no longer can be considered National Defense Information, according to people familiar with both sides of the case.
But one of the first disputes likely to be addressed is evidence the Trump defense team submitted to Boasberg in a secret court proceeding recently and to Deputy Attorney General Lisa Monaco’s office Monday alleging a senior federal prosecutor working on the case discussed a federal judgeship with a defense lawyer for a key witness.
Monaco’s office informed the Trump team in the last 24 hours that it was rejecting a request to delay the indictment so the allegation could be investigated.
The lawyer was already in line for consideration by the Biden White House for a judgeship when the prosecutor allegedly raised the nomination while trying to get additional testimony from the lawyer’s client, according to sources familiar with the allegation.
The discussion raised concerns among defense lawyers that it was an effort to influence the witness, who has declined to change his testimony because he claims to have no other information about the movement of boxes and artifacts at Mar-a-Lago since he left the White House, the sources said.

Trump "Agenda 47" Item: Federal Government Must Investigate "Unexplained, Alarming" Rise In Autism, Infertility, Allergies, Obesity
Former President Trump took a page out of RFK Jr.'s wheelhouse in his latest "Agenda 47" campaign platform item, calling for a "long-overdue" conversation about the alarming rise in chronic childhood illnesses, autism, infertility, allergies, and obesity.
PRESIDENT DONALD TRUMP:
“In recent decades, there has been unexplained and alarming growth in the prevalence of chronic illnesses and health problems, especially in children. We've seen a stunning rise in autism, autoimmune disorders, obesity, infertility, serious allergies, and respiratory challenges. It's time to ask what is going on!
Is it the food that they eat? The environment we live in? the over-prescription of certain medications? Is it the toxins and chemicals that are present in our homes? Every year we spend hundreds of billions fo dollars to treat these chronic problems rather than looking at what is causing them in the first place.
Too often, our public health establishment is too close to Big Pharma (they make a lot of money, Big Pharma), big corporations, and other special interests and does not want to ask the tough questions about what is happening to our children's health.
If Big Pharma defrauds American patients and taxpayers and puts profits above people, they must be investigated and held accountable. When I'm back in the White House, I will establish a special presidential commission of independent minds who are not bought and paid for by Big Pharma... to investigate what is causing the decades-long increase in chronic illnesses. I understand Big Pharma, I believe, better than anybody else. I know where they're coming from.”-Tim Haines, Real Clear Politics
Joe Biden Vetoes Republican-Led Measure to Overturn His Student Loan Forgiveness Plan
Congressional Republicans invoked the Congressional Review Act in an attempt to cancel Biden’s plan to forgive up to $20,000 per student in debt for an estimated 43 million Americans.
The measure passed the GOP-led House by a. 218-203 vote. Last week, it passed the Democrat-led Senate with the help of Sens. Jon Tester (D-MT), Joe Manchin (D-WV), and Sen. Kyrsten Sinema (I-AZ).
However, opponents of Biden’s student debt plan are not expected to reach the two-thirds majority vote in both chambers of Congress required to overturn Biden’s veto.
“Congressional Republicans led an effort to pass a bill blocking my Administration’s plan to provide up to $20,000 in student debt relief to working and middle class Americans,” Biden tweeted along with a video statement. “I won’t back down on helping hardworking folks. That’s why I’m vetoing this bill.”
“Some of the same members of Congress who supported a bill that’d block student loan debt relief had millions of dollars in PPP loans forgiven. But when it comes to hard-working Americans getting student debt relief, that’s where they draw the line?” Biden added. “It’s wrong.”
Biden’s attempt to transfer student debt to taxpayers faces uncertainty, with the conservative-led Supreme Court expected to strike the plan down in its current term.
Student loan payments paused at the start of the coronavirus pandemic but will resume in August pursuant to a provision in the bipartisan debt ceiling agreement.
