We Must Fight - President Reagan (Long Version)
Consumer prices rose 0.4% in February and 3.2% from a year ago
Inflation rose again in February, keeping the Federal Reserve on course to wait at least until the summer before starting to lower interest rates.
The consumer price index, a broad measure of goods and services costs, increased 0.4% for the month and 3.2% from a year ago, the Labor Department’s Bureau of Labor Statistics reported Tuesday. The monthly gain was in line with expectations, but the annual rate was slightly ahead of the 3.1% forecast from the Dow Jones consensus.
Excluding volatile food and energy prices, the core CPI rose 0.4% on the month and was up 3.8% on the year. Both were one-tenth of a percentage point higher than forecast.
While the 12-month pace is off the inflation peak in mid-2022, it remains well above the Fed’s 2% goal as the central bank approaches its two-day policy meeting in a week.
A 2.3% increase in energy costs helped boost the headline inflation number. Food costs were flat on the month, while shelter rose another 0.4%.
The BLS reported that the increases in energy and shelter amounted to more than 60% of the total gain. Gasoline jumped 3.8% on the month while owners’ equivalent rent, a hypothetical gauge of what homeowners could get renting their properties, rose 0.4%.

Global Fuel Prices Are Surging With Supply Risks Ahead
(Bloomberg) -- Disruptions on the world’s major trade routes, refinery closures and resurgent demand are pushing up global fuel prices and making forecasts difficult in the run-up to a US presidential election in which inflation will be a key issue.
Increases in the two most-consumed fuels are outpacing those for crude oil in some of the world’s most important markets. US gasoline futures have jumped sharply in recent weeks — thanks, in part, to the summer specification switch, and are now up by more than a fifth so far this year, while diesel in Europe has risen 10%. Refiner profits are also above seasonal norms in many regions, a sign of tightness as the summer travel period approaches.
Interruptions to fuel production — a combination of scheduled work, unplanned outages and drone attacks on Russian facilities — have been lifting prices. They’ve come on top of higher shipping costs caused by Houthi attacks in the Red Sea and drought at the Panama Canal, as well as the supply-chain ructions spurred by Western sanctions on the Kremlin.
And while more than a million barrels-a-day of new refining capacity is set to come online this year, these projects are notoriously prone to delays. The various moving parts are making it tough to forecast how much fuel will be available in a year where global oil demand is set to break another record and voters in the world’s largest economy will head to the polls.
There’s a risk that premium gasoline prices could reach a multi-year high this year, said Mukesh Sahdev, head of oil trading and downstream research at Rystad Energy AS.
“There’s not a lot President Biden can do in time for the election, if this happens” he said. “Strategic petroleum reserves are low, and there are few levers for the US government to pull to lower gasoline prices.”

Royal insider on what the Princess Kate photo scandal actually tells us
London — Three days after an image of Catherine, the Princess of Wales, and her children was dropped by international photo agencies over photo manipulation, one veteran royal watcher told CBS News on Tuesday that Kensington Palace just keeps "digging themselves deeper into this mess, frankly, that they've created."
In January, it was announced that Kate, as the princess is commonly known, would be having a planned abdominal surgery and taking time to heal privately until Easter on March 31. After she wasn't seen in public for some time, speculation began to grow online about her whereabouts and well-being.
When the family photo of Kate and her three kids was published on her and her husband's social media pages on Sunday, the date of U.K. Mother's Day, it was immediately scrutinized, and people quickly noticed some clear signs that it had been altered.
It appeared the image had been edited in a number of places, with one of Kate's hands unusually blurred and a zipper, a skirt and some tiles appearing misaligned. On Monday morning, Kate issued a brief apology for causing confusion and admitted to editing the image.
"The palace did always say, 'We're not going to give you any health updates on [Kate's] condition. She's going to have this operation, and she'll be back,'" CBS News contributor Tina Brown, author of the book "The Palace Papers," said Tuesday of the messaging from the palace. "She is indeed [entitled to privacy] and should have it. The problem is that when you released the picture, it is a health update. The picture is a health update saying, 'Look at me, look at us, I'm perfectly fine.' So, of course the world descends on that picture to dissect it."

Rogue Russian soldiers invade their own country
Russian volunteers fighting for Ukraine drove tanks and armoured vehicles into Russia in a three-pronged raid across the border.
Three separate units of Russian-born soldiers clashed with Moscow security services and claimed to have captured a village in the biggest cross-border incursion since the war began.
The raid – a possible distraction effort as Ukraine suffers losses on the front lines – came as Ukrainian drones struck key oil refineries, exacerbating a petrol crisis in Russia.
The Russian Freedom Legion and the Siberian Battalion announced their joint operation into Russia on Tuesday morning.
The Siberian Battalion was said to be working directly for the Ukrainian army, in contrast to previous raids that were directed by secret intelligence agencies.
Ailya Ponomarev, a former Russian politician living in exile in Ukraine, said that the anti-Kremlin separatist groups entered the frontier regions of Belgorod and Kursk.
Ukraine’s HUR military intelligence agency said that a third unit, the Russian Volunteer Corps, was also participating in the operation.
Andrii Yusov, the HUR’s spokesman, said that the groups comprised Russian citizens that were acting as part of “Ukraine’s security and defence forces”.
He told Ukraine 24: “[They are] helping to liberate Ukraine from the Russian invaders.
“But these are citizens of the Russian Federation, and at home (in Russia) they have the right to do whatever they think is necessary in this situation to protect their civil rights and free their country from the Russian Putin dictatorship.”
Russia’s defence ministry said that it had “thwarted Kyiv’s attempt to make a breakthrough into the Russian border territory”, adding the attack was staged “simultaneously in three directions”.
It described the attackers as “Ukrainian terrorists” rather than Russian citizens fighting against Vladimir Putin.
Meanwhile, Ukraine struck one of Russia’s largest oil refineries in a long-range barrage targeting at least seven regions.

Pro-Ukraine Insurgents Claim Russian Village, Vow to 'March on Moscow'
Ukraine-aligned rebel Russian units fighting their way across the shared border aim to "march on Moscow," one volunteer has told Newsweek from close to the shifting front line.
Alexei Baranovsky, a volunteer of the Freedom of Russia Legion who goes by the call sign "Lutik," said Tuesday's operation has already led to the capture of a Russian village close to the Ukraine border.
"I can confirm that a special liberating operation was launched today, with united forces of Ukraine's Russian volunteer units crossing the border together," Baranovsky said. "As we speak, clashes are ongoing near the borders with Belgorod and Kursk oblasts, with our groups currently holding the initiative."
Cross-border raids are not a new development in the war. Russian rebels staged several such operations in 2023, forcing the evacuation of thousands of residents in border areas and prompting a multiweek battle with Russian forces before withdrawing back into Ukraine.
This week, the Russian volunteer units have claimed the capture of the village of Tyotkino in the Kursk region, less than 3 miles from the border with Ukraine.
Russian President Vladimir Putin's forces, Baranovsky said, "did not expect these breakthroughs in two separate regions simultaneously, so let's see how this situation unfolds."

Biden Priorities: Sends $300M in Weapons for Ukraine While Pentagon Itself Has No Replacements and Is $10B Overdrawn
For the Joe Biden administration from hell, ‘America last’ is a mantra that pervades every aspect of government.
When it comes to National Defense, it isn’t any different.
That’s why it isn’t surprising that the Pentagon will rush about $300 million in weapons to Ukraine after finding some ‘surprise’ cost savings in its contracts – despite the fact that the US military itself is deeply overdrawn and needs at least $10 billion to replenish all the inventory it has pulled from its stocks to help Kiev.
Associated Press reported:
“It’s the Pentagon’s first announced security package for Ukraine since December, when it acknowledged it was out of replenishment funds. It wasn’t until recent days that officials publicly acknowledged they weren’t just out of money to buy replacement weapons, they are $10 billion overdrawn.”
The Pentagon can’t give any more weapons away until Congress provides the additional replenishment funds.
“The replenishment funds have allowed the Pentagon to pull existing munitions, air defense systems and other weapons from its reserve inventories under presidential drawdown authority, or PDA, to send to Ukraine and then sign contracts to order replacements, which are needed to maintain U.S. military readiness.
[…] ‘When Russian troops advance and its guns fire, Ukraine does not have enough ammunition to fire back,” said national security adviser Jake Sullivan in announcing the $300 million in additional aid’.”

NEW REPORT: Fani Willis Conspired with Liz Cheney’s Faux J6 Committee – J6 Committee Shared Video Recordings with Fani Willis But Then Deleted the Video to Prevent Republican Lawmakers from Gaining Access To It
Chairman Barry Loudermilk (R-GA) released his January 6 Initial Findings Report on Monday, March 11.
Rep. Loudermilk is the Committee on House Administration’s Subcommittee on Oversight Chairman.
“For nearly two years former Speaker Nancy Pelosi’s January 6th Select Committee promoted hearsay and cherry-picked information to promote its political goal – to legislatively prosecute former President Donald Trump,” said Chairman Loudermilk on Monday.
“It was no surprise that the Select Committee’s final report focused primarily on former President Trump and his supporters, not the security failures and reforms needed to ensure the United States Capitol is safer today than in 2021.”
“The American people deserve the entire truth about what caused the violent breach at the United States Capitol of January 6, 2021. It is unfortunate the Select Committee succumbed to their political inclinations and chased false narratives instead of providing the important work of a genuine investigation. In my committee’s investigation, it is my objective to uncover the facts about January 6, without political bias or spin. My report today is just the beginning,” Loudermilk concluded.

Trump Reveals What Can Be Done to Turn Around Failing Social Security, Biden Cuts In and Says He Won’t Let the Solutions Happen
Social Security was initially intended as a way to ensure that those who worked in their younger years would be able to retire peacefully and without financial stress in their later years.
It operates not by having a set fund that people pay into for themselves, like an individual retirement account, but rather by contributing to a collective fund that pays for those who currently receive Social Security.
Unfortunately, the system hasn’t stood the test of time as reports are seeing the cost of the program increasing and future retirees are expected to receive less than current beneficiaries, as CNBC reported in 2023.
As birth rates decline in the United States, fewer workers will be paying into the program while large numbers of retiring individuals will still expect benefits.
It’s estimated by 2034, those receiving benefits will only get 77 percent of what would be expected, a notable drop.
Because of the mathematically inevitable issues the program is facing, lawmakers are questioning what can be done to ensure that future recipients won’t receive less despite putting in just as much as previous generations.
On Monday, in an interview with CNBC’s Joe Kerren on “Squawk Box,” former President Donald Trump discussed potential solutions to fix the ticking timebomb.
“So first of all, there is a lot you can do in terms of entitlements in terms of cutting and in terms of also the theft and the bad management of entitlements, tremendous bad management of entitlements,” Trump said.
He also saw solutions in not cutting Social Security but instead reducing inflation and increasing the strength of the economy.

Federal Judge Finds Christian Pro-Life Activist Guilty After Singing Popular Hymn “HOLY HOLY HOLY” and Quoting Bible Outside Abortion Clinic
U.S. Federal Judge Joe Anderson, in a non-jury trial, found Christian pro-life activist Steven Lefemine, 68, guilty of violating the Freedom of Access of Clinic Entrances Act (FACE ACT) after he sang the popular hymn “Holy, Holy, Holy, Lord God Almighty” and recited Bible verses outside of an abortion clinic in Columbia, South Carolina.
On November 15, 2022, Lefemine was protesting against abortions outside the Planned Parenthood South Atlantic in Columbia by singing hymns and quoting Bible scriptures.
Shortly after Lefemine’s protest began, the staff of the abortion clinic, along with the police officers, asked Lefemine to stop blocking the entrance of the abortion clinic, to which Lefemine replied he would only leave if “They agree not to kill babies today.”
At his trial, Lefemine represented himself and cited the U.S. Constitution, the Declaration of Independence, and Bible passages from Psalms, Exodus, Matthew, and Acts.
According to the DOJ, Lefemine now faces a maximum penalty of six months in federal prison and a fine of up to $10,000.

Lawless Marxist NY AG Letitia James Says Trump Has to Post Bond For Full $464 Million Judgment Before Appeal
New York Attorney General Letitia James argued Trump has to post bond for the full $464 million judgment before the appeal.
Late last month it was reported President Trump would post a $100 million bond and ask for a stay of the $464 million judgment in Letitia James Soviet-style NYC fraud trial.
“The exorbitant and punitive amount of the Judgment coupled with an unlawful and unconstitutional blanket prohibition on lending transactions would make it impossible to secure and post a complete bond,” Trump’s defense lawyers wrote in the filing last month. “Appellants nonetheless plan to secure and post a bond in the amount of $100 million.”
Trump claimed he would have to sell his properties at a loss to pay the $454 million fine.
Letitia James argued in a court filing on Monday that Trump could try to avoid paying the fine altogether.
“James argued that without a full bond, Trump could attempt to avoid paying the fine if his appeal fails. In her court filing, she rejected his suggestion that a bond isn’t necessary because his ownership interest in his 40 Wall St. tower alone was sufficient to pay the fine if he lost.” – Bloomberg reported.
“She said she wants to see proof that surety companies refused to accept the skyscraper as collateral and that sureties “have refused to accept this property, his other real estate interests, or his private jets or helicopters as collateral for an appeal bond.”” – Bloomberg reported.
Trump has until March 18 to respond to Letitia James.

Trump Promises to Free January 6 Political Prisoners as One of His First Acts if Re-Elected
Former President Donald Trump has promised to free the January 6 political prisoners as one of his first acts, should he be re-elected.
Referring to the prisoners as “hostages,” Trump said granting them freedom will be one of his administration’s top priorities.
“My first acts as your next President will be to Close the Border, DRILL, BABY, DRILL, and Free the January 6 Hostages being wrongfully imprisoned!” Trump wrote in a Truth Social post on Monday
The post appeared to be the first time that Trump has said he will make freeing the prisoners a Day One priority. He had previously vowed to pardon a large portion of them.
The Biden campaign blasted his plan, naturally.
A spokesperson for President Joe Biden’s campaign, Sarafina Chitika, said in a statement to NBC News in response to Trump’s comments that the former president “has shown he’ll do whatever it takes to hold on to power — including excusing and encouraging political violence.”
“The American people haven’t forgotten the violent attack at our Capitol on January 6 — they know Trump is too dangerous to be let anywhere near the Oval Office again, and they’ll turn out to protect our democracy and keep Trump out of the White House this November,” Chitika said.
NBC News notes, “Nearly 500 people have been sentenced to incarceration over the riot on Jan. 6, 2021, and prosecutors have secured more than 950 convictions, according to the U.S. attorney’s office for Washington, D.C. More than 1,350 people have been charged in connection with the attack.”

A Terrifying Marriage: Big Pharma Embraces AI
At a time when many business and political leaders are concerned about the spread of Artificial Intelligence (AI), one sector is openly embracing AI – big pharma.
Pharmaceutical companies, like Moderna, are not only embracing AI, but promising to embed AI into every single aspect of their organization:
Moderna is on a journey to becoming a real-time AI company where we embed AI into every aspect of our organization, and we’ve made significant progress. Moderna has already witnessed the impact of AI and digitization to increase our speed to market and continuously improvement of our products. AI already helps optimize each aspect of Moderna’s value chain – from drug design to clinical trials operations, manufacturing operating procedures and commercial outreach. And its impact extends beyond our drug design an release cycle to accelerate and improve the work of nearly every department – from customer service, to finance, cybersecurity and more.
At Moderna, we believe that how we work and the tools we use greatly influence our ability to build the best possible version of our organization and realize our mission to deliver the biggest impact to people through mRNA medicines. This is just the beginning of AI’s contribution to our mission.
Not only is big pharma embedding AI into every aspect of their efforts, they are embedding their own leadership among the leading AI companies. Indeed, OpenAI recently announced that they had chosen a Pfizer board member to serve on their board.

UK MONOLITH MANIA: Fifth Metal Artifact Found In Wales Fuels ‘Mystery’ Speculations
Another week, another seemingly supernatural ‘mystery’ coming from the United Kingdom.
This time it’s yet another installment of the years-long ‘metal monolith’ conundrum. This time, in Wales.
Daily Mail reported:
“A fifth steel monolith shaped like a giant Toblerone has been spotted on a Welsh hill.
Locals in Hay-on-Wye spotted the ten-foot-tall block of steel, resembling the distinctive shape of the [Swiss] chocolate bar, on Hay Bluff near the Powys town at the weekend.”
The artifact sighting is the latest in a series of similar events happening across the UK and elsewhere in Europe.
Multiple monoliths were sighted in 2020, including one at the Isle of Wight and one at the Merry Maidens megalithic stone circle in Cornwall, which attracted enormous curiosity.
“These previous findings have prompted speculation on social media that the structures could be the work of aliens.
